how many calories you should consume a day and from what food groups they should come.
Another innovative feature of the new and improved food pyramid is that is has options for pregnant or breastfeeding women. This is important because what a woman consumes while pregnant or nursing
is ultimately passed onto her baby. If the woman is eating healthy then the baby is receiving the correct nutrients at the correct level. If the mother is eating a diet that is not nutritious that will affect the
development of her baby as well. A food pyramid that is customizable to each individuals lifestyle is an excellent tool that everyone should be putting to good use.
